Easy hike up the Bartolo Valley, a route immersed in the nature of the Tarvisio area.
The hike ascends the Bartolo Valley along the forest road that starts in Camporosso and ascends the valley. Initially shaded on a dirt road, the trail does not have excessive elevation gain and unfolds without road changes or detours. Skirting the route on either side are several waterways, such as the Bartolo Canal.
Traces inherent in history can be seen along the route : memorial commemorating the fighting in 1813 and old mule tracks that can be seen from the main route.
The road then becomes asphalt and on the left of note a unique rock climbing wall, where the most experienced climbers try their hand at thrilling climbs.
Continue further and you reach the first hut, Baita Beatrice. Finally then you catch a glimpse of the meadows of Val Bartolo. Here you plunge into the green, an expanse of meadows dotted with traditional huts, characterized by wood and sloping roofs with balconies adorned with flowers.
Same route for the return.
You can discover this wonderful valley during Baite Aperte, a traditional festival that usually takes place on the last two weekends of August: the baite come alive and you can find (and taste) local gastronomic specialties, music, entertainment all in a unique setting.
