The "Sentiero del Gusto" (Path of Taste) is part of the thematic trails of the Val Resia Ecomuseum and aims to introduce the many gifts found in nature. In the woods it is possible to discover and collect many products including mushrooms, fruits, and wild herbs that enrich the dishes of traditional cuisine.

Starting from the locality Majana di Lipovaz, the path enters the Lok forest until reaching the locality Brig, then descends again towards the stream and the Barman power station. After crossing the river and following the municipal road towards Lischiazze, the path crosses tall beech forests up to the village of Gost at the foot of Mount Cuzzer. It continues towards the Stavoli Las, beyond which it reaches the suspension bridge on the Resia stream in the locality Tigo.

Finally the path, after a short climb, ends in the village of San Giorgio.

    Roadbook

The entrance gate to this route is located in the locality Majana di Lipovaz (Prato di Resia). On the other side of the road, note a glacial erratic boulder, masterfully sculpted by the artist from Brescia, Diego Marangoni. Other similar works by the same artist will accompany us at various points along the path. We take the short lane that descends among the meadows until we reach the entrance of the Log forest. After crossing a small wooden bridge, we start to climb the terrace slope, then continue our walk up to the locality Brig. This section of the path is very pleasant to travel, winding through mixed environments, wooded and meadow areas, with a rich presence of erratic boulders. We are indeed on top of a moraine deposited by the large glacier tongue that here descended until ten thousand years ago.

At the end of this flat section, leaving on the right the wide road that shortly leads to San Giorgio, we start to descend to the left, passing through a beautiful pine forest rich in undergrowth, then reach the Resia stream near the bridge and the nearby Barman hydroelectric power station. The force of the water, used today to produce renewable energy, once powered the stamping mills of one of the many mills with which the Val Resia was rich: real engines of the economy of the time. After crossing the bridge, from which we cast a quick glance at the stream, here affected by huge stones smoothed by the water, we keep to the right, walking along the municipal road with a slight climb heading towards Lischiazze to reach the small bridge over the Barman stream. Here too there was a nice mill, of which we can observe the old building, awaiting a well-deserved restoration.

After about a hundred meters we enter on the right onto the small path that climbs tall beech woods up to the village of Gost, at the foot of Mount Cuzzer. The arrival at the village, as usual in the Valley, is preceded by a devotional cross (once, leaving and returning to the village, a stop was customary for a prayer of good omen or thanksgiving). After passing the houses and keeping to the right, the path now descends again into the forest, continuing towards the Stavoli Las, with meadows still well cared for today. These wide flat plots represented a zone with an ideal microclimate for the cultivation of fruit trees (apple and pear trees of native varieties well acclimated). Indeed, in the locality Las di Sott there was an oil mill, today partly rebuilt under the canopy adjacent to the private house of the Vïģul family.

Arriving at the valley bottom we reach one of the most interesting environments in the valley: the bed of the Resia stream. Along the left bank we will notice willow bushes, typical trees of the banks, whitish gravel and small pioneer plants that occupy these environments. In a short time we reach the ancient suspension bridge in the locality of Tigo. Also here in the past there was a mill (eloquent the toponym “Starmlin”) and a fruit growing area. Keeping to the left on the asphalt road, and then taking the uphill road towards San Giorgio, we begin the last section of the route. Along the climb it will be possible to notice the presence of old military positions linked to the First World War. At the end of the climb we reach San Giorgio (Bila) concluding the itinerary.

Note: to return to the starting point we can retrace the first section of the path in reverse, thus avoiding the asphalt road that connects San Giorgio to Prato.
