The Percorso Fuori also allows less fit people to immerse themselves in these border territories a few steps from Slovenia.
The departure is set at the Pian dei Ciclamini hiking refuge from where you immerse yourself in the beech and fir forests of Alta Val Torre. The comfortable wide path leads towards Passo Tanamea, an important strategic and fortified place during the Cold War when this area was part of the Iron Curtain.
The theme of the border is addressed by a series of informational panels distributed along the route, alongside those dedicated to biodiversity. In these territories live numerous animal and plant species which, if lucky, can be encountered during the hike: beautiful orchids, shy roe deer, and great vultures soaring the skies.
The Percorso Fuori is an excellent choice for those who want to take a walk outdoors with their family.
To complete the visit, it is recommended to enjoy some typical dishes at the valley’s local establishments.
There are two best periods to appreciate this path:

From the Pian dei Ciclamini refuge, cross the SR646 road and arrive at the starting area of the route, where the first information panel is located.
Following the sign labeled "Percorso fuori" continue to the right, thus starting the excursion. After a few hundred meters, cross the gravel of the Mea stream and then enter the forest again.
The path makes a sharp bend and leads to a first intersection with the return route. At this point, keep right and continue straight into the forest until you find yourself walking on a stretch of gravel covering the ground. In this section, the path is less obvious but by following the white and red marks on the trees, it can be crossed without difficulty.
Leaving the forest, continue walking on the gravel for about 200m until you see another "Percorso Fuori" sign leading to the right, first through a stretch of forest followed immediately by a wide meadow.
Continue straight, crossing a small ford (water present only after heavy rain) and ascending slightly until reaching an intersection with the informational sign "Frontiera." Turn left downhill, cross another small ford and continue straight until you reach a military structure with barbed wire on the left and a magnificent meadow on the right. After a few hundred meters, you finally reach the SR646 road near passo Tanamea.
To continue the loop, retrace your steps until crossing again the last ford encountered and turn right immediately after.
Continue straight until walking again on the gravel of the Mea stream, where you must pay attention to a right turn (signs present) which, after a short climb, leads to the upper part of the Percorso Fuori.
After a couple of kilometers, on the left side you cross the outbound path twice while our route continues keeping to the right until reaching again the SR646 road and the Pian dei Ciclamini refuge.
