The proposed ring is varied in terms of the landscapes traversed and the extensive views from the peaks. Leaving the Zoncolan area, the first ascent, which turns onto the northern slope of M. Tamai, leads to the summit at an altitude of 1970m. Descending to the nearby Forcella Arvenis saddle, the path straddles the stony slopes of this mountain, whose summit with cross can be reached without great effort. Now the route follows the long south-east ridge downhill, always on an evident path, reaching the vicinity of Malga Claupa, the first alpine pasture of the day. Having bypassed the pastures, the route runs for a long time without any major differences in altitude as far as Malga Meleit in a succession of truly spectacular green scenery. Along the service road on the northern slope, you pass the nearby Agareit malga to reach the pastures of Malga Tamai. With a short ascent, passing near the Rf. Tamai, now back on the slopes, you return to the starting point.
Author’s recommendation
The Malga Meleit hut and the Tamai hut offer refreshments during the opening periods. They tend to be open from June to September.
