Challenging itinerary with significant elevation differences, technical uphill and downhill sections but with extremely picturesque landscapes.
Leaving the car at the Val di Giaf parking lot (1010m), continue until just before the refuge of the same name where CAI path 342 starts and climbs up to the Forcella del Cason (2250m).From the refuge onward, the path is always challenging until it becomes steep with stretches on small rocks where you also need to use your hands to continue (for experts). Past the fork, however, you reach the beautiful and rugged Valle Monfalcon di Forni and the Marchi-Granzotto bivouac (2152m).The bivouac is located on a wide panoramic terrace from which the view sweeps from the Monfalcon di Forni chain to that of the Cresta del Leone while, in the distance, the Pramaggiore and Fantuline groups stand out. Leaving the bivouac we climb westward, this time following CAI trail 354 to the Forcella da Las Busas where the descent begins along an expert trail on fairly steep terrain between boulders and scree (always follow the trail and pay attention to the right turn that bypasses into the parallel valley). The trail first crosses the Bianchi Ring and then leads directly back to the Giaf Refuge.
