Departure from the PromoTurismoFVG Infopoint. Turn right on Via Barcis to Hotel 1301 Inn. Near the hotel, take the service road that runs alongside the soccer fields and continue to Casera Capovilla. Take CAI path 924 and continue left to the fork, climbing up through the beech forest. On either side of the trail you can spot a couple of large, old charcoal kilns. Higher up the forest gives way to meadows and wide views of Piancavallo and the Veneto-Friuli plain. The junction with Sentiero Gerometta CAI 993 is reached . From here, along slight ups and downs you reach Baita Arneri. From early June to late August, the numerous blooms, transform the mountain into a lush garden.

To the right of Baita Arneri, take CAI path 918, which climbs to the side of the Tremol 2 slope. At the view of the mountain station, turn left crossing the slope paying attention to the signs. Follow the trail up Val dei Sass to Forcella Palantina. Just before the fork, a variant leads to the belvedere from which there is a splendid view of Alpago and the Dolomites. A steep but short descent takes you to Casera Palantina and then back on CAI 993 through a mixed forest of imposing beech and fir trees.

For a good stretch the slopes remain modest and then climb back up through a short but strenuous ascent. Keep on CAI path 993 until Baita Arneri, passing the junction with CAI 984 and the following one with CAI 992 - Col Cornier. From here you can descend along the path below the Tremol 1 chairlift or, during the opening period of the lifts, using the chairlift.

    Return to Piazzale della Puppa.
