From Rifugio Calvi at 2164 m, follow uphill the CAI 132 trail up to Passo Sesis at 2312 m. From the pass, descend along the Val Fleons (CAI 140 trail), passing Casera Fleons di sopra down to Casera Fleons di sotto at 1571 m. Following the CAI 403 trail marker, continue towards Casera Sissanis di sotto and from there ascend entirely (CAI 142 trail) the Vallone di Sissanis up to Sella Sissanis. Continuing at altitude, towards Lago di Bordaglia (trail markers CAI 142a and 403), reach Passo Giramondo at 2005 m and enter Austria. From the pass, descend to Wolayer Alm at 1708 m and, following an uphill dirt road, reach the Wolayerseehütte on the shore of Lago di Volaia. After crossing the nearby Passo di Volaia at 1970 m, reach shortly Rifugio Lambertenghi-Romanin at 1955 m. From the hut, descend following the trail and then the forest road (trail marker CAI 144) until you reach a fork just above Rifugio Tolazzi, turn right and shortly reach the latter.
