Aquileia, a treasure chest

This famous wind was celebrated at the Palazzo delle Poste in the centre of town, which during the days of the Barcolana and in the following two weeks hosted the installations of “A Museum that is in the air. Trieste, the Windy City”.
The show opened its doors the week before the record-breaking regatta that filled the Gulf of Trieste with 2101 yachts, and closed (hopefully only for the moment) at the end of October.
The installations presented are the result of the collaboration between the Museo della Bora – the Bora Museum – and the students of the Iuav of Venice, following the Degree Course in Industrial Design and Multimedia.
There were many ideas offered to describe one of the most characteristic theatres in the city: from bottles containing a bit of wind from various areas, to drawings and illustrations.
There were many depictions giving a visual interpretation of the identity of the Bora: images and paintings like that of Maurizio Stagni, “Dance with the Bora. Where does the wind go when it does not blow?”
On the panels there were also many considerations by the Iuav students together with many newspaper articles about the museum and the dedicated workshops.
