Aquileia, a treasure chest

Tempus East Jocundum is a historical re-enactment in which I have had the opportunity of participating over the past three years. This event, which takes place during the first week of August in Gemona del Friuli, attracts crowds of enthusiastic young and old visitors, entertaining them all. The event stages a series of medieval combats, popular dances, theatrical animations and magnificent fireworks.
In addition, the opportunity to pay with Thalers, the currency used at the time and which can be exchanged directly on site, and the chance of visiting taverns to taste the local products and witness the spectacular evening fireworks, are aspects that help give birth to a magical and surreal atmosphere that, in my opinion, makes this event the point of reference for most of the medieval events held in the region
Seeing this re-enactment is a truly unique and exceptional immersive experience, linked to a time now far away from our own times, and able to bear everyone, heart and soul, to the Gemona of the fourteenth century and the apex of its splendour. This is an opportunity to admire, learn about and discover who were the people, customs, and habits typifying a mysterious and fascinating period of history.
