So when you find yourself in a heavenly place, you don’t even know how to describe it! Relaxation, the peace of the Friuli hills and our beautiful Carnic Alps are all wonderful, to say the least. And to make it even more perfect, a lovely hotel for enjoying the delights of Carnia.
A few months ago an exceptional Friuli-born chef joined the hotel. His studies of local products, harmonious forms and elegant flavours enhance each and every dish within the context of an area with deeply-rooted traditions, as is Carnia. Here, the dishes followed one after the other in a mixture of tradition and modernity.
The chef’s welcome dish: a delicious fried frico stuffed with mushrooms on a bed of tartar sauce
Here it’s revisited and well-balanced: a frico lollipop!
Then I had to indulge myself with a fantastic double act, of course: cjalcions stuffed with alpine-dairy ricotta and mountain herbs, and the sweet version with plums and cinnamon… a true delight!
