From Udine: take exit Carnia - Tolmezzo on Highway A23. Continue along road SS52 towards Tolmezzo and then continue along road SS52bis heading to Arta Terme-Paluzza. Drive through the village of Timau up to the fourth hairpin bend on the Pass of Monte Croce Carnico (about 6 kilometres).
From Austria: take Plockenpass Strasse (road No. 110) from the village of Kötschach - Mauthen and continue to the border with Italy (around 12 kilometres). Continue to Timau on road SS52bis for 4 kilometres up to the fourth hairpin bend.
