L”Oro Rosso” in Attimis

I want to share with you the wonderful experience I had on Saturday, 23 December in Trieste, in the company of a group led by Cristina Favento, expert in the world of coffee.
We met on the Saturday at 2 pm in front of the info point in Piazza Unità. After having completed the formalities, the group began the journey back through the history of coffee, from its beginnings to its first appearance in the free port of Trieste, then under the dominion of the Hapsburg Empire: from its sale in pharmacies (coffee was sold for healing purposes) to the first coffee shops, to the first real cafés, which were meeting places, tasting rooms and reading rooms, or even dance halls. Today those that have remained have become historic cafés. The first association of people with an interest in the coffee trade in Trieste was founded in 1891, thanks to the involvement of importers, traders, coffee roasters and coffee shop owners. In Trieste, we even have a Coffee Museum. But I cannot reveal everything...
The tour lasts about two hours during which you will discover where you can taste and buy new blends. Where to taste special coffees with traditional extraction or filter coffee, which is increasingly fashionable in our city too. The tour includes a visit to the historic cafés as well as a pleasant coffee tasting in one of them.
The Trieste Coffee Tour charges a fee and is organised by the Associazione Joseph under the patronage of the Associazione Caffè Trieste and Friuli Venezia Giulia . For more information, go to www.joseph.land. The tour can be booked for a minimum of 6 people
