The Museo Etnografico della Gente della Val Resia (Ethnographic Museum of the People of the Resia Valley) is situated in Stolvizza/Solbica, a small characteristic village in the Val Resia, in a typical 18th century Resian house restored in keeping with its
original style with an external staircase and wooden balconies.
The aim of the museum is to promote the local culture, especially the Resian dialect, which is still spoken in the valley today. The Resian language, belonging to the Slovene language group, has original and archaic features that make it highly interesting. Hence, it is included in the
UNESCO list of dialects to be preserved.
The museum also hosts a multimedia exhibition dedicated to local tales and legends.
