Mulin dal Flec is located in the centre of the village of Illegio and it boasts ancient origins; in fact, its construction dates back to the 17th century.
The intense passion of its owner, Firmino Scarsini, nowadays gives us the opportunity to admire the mill in perfect working condition, thanks to the renovation he performed mindful of the experience of his forefathers and following the earthquake of 1976.
The building has a rectangular floor plan spread over two floors placed longitudinally in relation to the canal stemming from the "Tof" spring that flows in the centre of the village. The water from the spring drops onto the outer blade, which in turn, by means of a specially shaped black pine log, transmits the movement to the mill's mechanism.
The interior contains two millstones, with an adjustable gap to achieve a more or less fine grind, each weighing 7 and 8 quintals respectively.
Getting to know the Firmino museum and its history is a unique experience, which allows visitors to understand how peasant life existed in the agricultural civilisation of the pre-industrial era, what the daily rhythms and routines were, and what sources were absolutely essential to a household economy of that time.
