Val Saisera Wild Track

Val Saisera is a valley in the Tarvisio area that runs from Valbruna to the foot of the Jôf Fuart and Montasio mountains. In winter this valley is a paradise for all those who love activities in nature: walks, snowshoeing, fat bike rides and Nordic walking, both for professionals and beginners.

The Saisera Wild Track is one of the trails that winds through Val Saisera, and in my opinion is most beautiful in winter. Its peculiarity lies in the posters with motivational phrases and quotes on mountains that can be found along the way. They offer an incentive to discover the entire trail, and to make you ask yourself “I wonder what lies behind that bend?" The walk becomes almost a way to find yourself, to forget all your problems and really relax 100%.

Length: 11 km

Duration: about 3 hours

Difficulty: easy

The route starts from the Saisera Hütte, the first parking lot you find in Valbruna taking the road towards Val Saisera.

I walked the path only up to the junction that leads to the agriturismo near the trail, and it is very easy to spot both because it is marked and because there is a road that crosses the Saisera torrent to get there. The agriturismo is known above all for its stable. Here you can book horseback rides or the even more romantic horse-drawn sleigh rides. Imagine traveling through this thousand-year-old forest on a sleigh pulled by horses that glides over the fresh snow, just as if you were back in times past!
