When you are invited to a concert of electronic music, you might imagine anything except to find yourself in a former monastery decorated with frescoes, right in the centre of the town of Pordenone. And so it was that one Saturday in December, in the former monastery of San Francesco in Pordenone, we were present at the exciting return of Scenasonica, the independent music festival that will be hosted every Friday in this extraordinary space.

The site of the former monastery complex has been restored and converted into a container for cultural activities of a high level that is perfect for hosting exhibitions, conferences and concerts. The building dates back to 1424 and stands in the historic centre of town a stone's throw from the Natural History Museum. The location is fabulous and the precious frescoes by Il Pordenone give the venue a magical atmosphere. It is definitely worth seeing.

A former monastery that was rather neglected, the desire to promote a unique location in the town of Pordenone, and a collective that was originally dedicated to organising events for PnBox. It is from this mix that Ex Convento Live was born, a series of events dedicated to electronic music, to make this style known in its various facets. The best cutting-edge musicians will be invited on stage, with the desire to create a unique situation of its kind. And there is a will to bring quality artists into the city, to develop a niche. To ensure sure that Pordenone becomes the centre of electronic music.

The programme goes live with one event per month. The Belgian duo Cummi Flu, the pseudonym of Oliver Doerell, a multimedia illusionist from Brussels, will kick off proceedings. The multifaceted artist will offer us some tracks from his new album, which is unique for creativity, intensity and compositional quality. The sounds created with the aid of unusual instruments to recreate a wide range of innovative and experimental sounds.

It will be an unprecedented experience, and a unique and engaging evening. 2018 will give us a busy year of live music events. So all we have to do is wait for the upcoming Scenasonica events scheduled!
