As soon as you start descending from the mountain top, you meet some rock-hewn caves, which were used as shelters from enemy bombing or ammo deposits. After a turn on the left, there are the remains of a large military housing facing west and well-protected by the mountain slope, which here forms a small natural amphitheatre. Just like the military buildings seen during the ascent, here too the perimeter walls are visible.
Inside the building, you can notice a large opening on the southern side of the mountain. It is a fortified tunnel which used to connect it to the trenches along the southern side of the summit. This 10m passageway is still intact and can be walked through with a torch and a helmet.
These constructions are surrounded by defensive walls, passageways and fortified trenches. Some of them are still in good shape and can be walked through safely (some sections require caution, due to the presence of barbed wire).
