As soon as you come out of the last stretch of woods, on your right, you can see the first remains of the Great War on Mt. Jôf di Somdogna. These are the perimeter walls of some buildings, partly collapsed, which were probably housing for soldiers and the commands presiding over this area. This is quite a convenient location, about halfway between Somdogna Pass and the summit, providing easy and quick links between different positions. From here, soldiers would depart and head up to key posts near the summit.
What is left today is just some perimeter walls leaning on a hill slope, and hundreds of stones that were once part of the buildings. Inside the last building, in a corner, you can see a sort of stone table resembling an altar. This section of CAI trail No. 610 is smoother than the previous stretch: soldiers probably paved it to make the walk easier.
