The Peak (Spice)

Included in the second defensive line of Mt. Ragogna, the "Spice" ("peak" or "height" in Friulian language) is a second entrenched stronghold. It is a structure built between 1916 and 1917 consisting of a number of trenches covering the whole area, including a cave used to install automatic weapons and small-calibre guns.

Unfortunately, this cave cannot be visited because it has been walled. On the other hand, you can visit the compound overlooking the hamlet of Muris, which, along with the Wolf Rock (Cret dal Louf), underscores the importance of the whole stronghold in the battles of late October 1917, given the superb views to north-east.
