DAY 1
Arrival in UDINE, the Tiepolo Galleries
Arrival and hotel accommodation.
In the afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of the Tiepolo Galleries in the Diocesan Museum to admire the Baroque frescoes by Giambattista Tiepolo. The painter arrived in Udine in 1726, summoned by Patriarch Dionisio Dolfin, and created a treasure trove of light and beauty, including the "Fall of the Rebel Angels" in the central staircase, the "Sacrifice of Isaac," the "Judgment of Solomon," rich in warm, intense colors, and "Rachel Hiding the Idols." The museum also features an entire floor dedicated to religious wooden sculpture from Friuli and the splendid Patriarch's Library.

2nd DAY
EXHIBITION “Impressionism and Modernity” – UDINE visit
This morning, enjoy an audio-guided tour of the "Impressionism and Modernity" exhibition hosted at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, featuring works from the Kunst Museum Winterthur. This internationally significant exhibition project brings 91 works by the greatest masters of modern European art to Friuli Venezia Giulia. The works on display include masterpieces by Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Camille Pissaro, Alfred Sisley, Pablo Picasso, Piet Mondrian, Wassily Kandinsky, Renè Magritte, Max Ernst, Paul Klee, and Giorgio De Chirico .
The Museum, housed inside Casa Cavazzini, renovated to a design by architect Gae Aulenti, houses permanent collections including works by the Basaldella brothers, the Astaldi collection, and a room dedicated to Giuseppe Zigaina, one of Friuli's most celebrated artists.
In the afternoon, an audio-guided tour * of Udine, a discreet and elegant city, yet cheerful and convivial: from Piazza Primo Maggio, along Via Manin, you reach the beautiful Piazza della Libertà with the Loggia del Lionello, climb up to the Castle which houses the Civic Museums (free entry with the FVG card) from whose square you can enjoy a breathtaking view from the roofs of the historic center to the Carnic and Julian Alps, then the Duomo, built in the 14th century which houses works by Tiepolo of the city and after a short walk you reach Piazza Matteotti (or Piazza San Giacomo), an open-air lounge, surrounded by colorful buildings and elegant porticos, enlivened by the tables of historic cafés.
In the evening, an aperitif in the historic center with a typical "tajut" (a small glass of Friulian white wine) accompanied by a platter of ham and typical Friulian cheeses.

See you in Friuli Venezia Giulia
Morning at leisure for strolls or further exploration with admission to one of Udine's cultural museums (included in the FVG card), including the Ethnographic Museum housed in Palazzo Giacomelli in the ancient village of Grazzano, the Natural History Museum, the Archaeological Museum, or the Photography Museum.
We also recommend a visit to the beautiful exhibition "Borders from Gauguin to Hopper," curated by Marco Goldin of Linea d'Ombra, held at Villa Manin in Passariano, about 30 km from Udine.
The exhibition explores, through over 120 paintings and works on paper from important European and American museums and private collections, the concept of border as a physical, interior, symbolic and spiritual space in 19th and 20th century painting.
