1st Day
Arrival in Cividale del Friuli- First Lombard Duchy
Arrival in Cividale del Friuli for an individual visit to one of the most beautiful towns in Friuli, located at the foot of the Colli Orientali del Friuli, nestled against the Julian Prealps. Founded by Julius Caesar under the name Forum Iulii, from which the name Friuli originated, it became the capital of the first Lombard Duchy in Italy in 568 AD.
Explore the historic center that lies on the right bank of the Natisone River and retains its medieval character. A stop at the Lombard Temple, one of the most important 8th-century monuments, featuring well-preserved frescoes and bas-reliefs.

2nd Day
Gorizia and Nova Gorica
Breakfast and overnight stay at the hotel.
In the morning, departure for Gorizia and Nova Gorica, European Capital of Culture 2025, a cross-border hub aimed at creating a new shared identity.
Individual visit to Gorizia, a city with an Austrian-Habsburg heritage, known for its elegant palaces and gardens:
•The Castle of Gorizia and its surrounding village
• Palazzo Coronini Cronberg, a noble residence
• Piazza Vittoria, with the Neptune Fountain
•Via Rastello, a charming historical street
• The beautiful Church of St. Ignatius
Cross Piazza Transalpina to reach Nova Gorica, a vibrant and dynamic city featuring innovative architecture, art galleries, wide boulevards, and theaters that combine history and modernity.
Lunch at a restaurant.
In the afternoon possibility to visit the exhibition Three Looks, three different and personal incursions on a border territory Three great protagonists of contemporary photography tell the story of the Italian-Slovenian border and the cities of Gorizia and Nova Gorica through three exclusive reportages, exhibited in a large exhibition presented during the celebrations of the shared title of European Capital of Culture. The American Steve McCurry, the Italian Alex Majoli and the Slovenian Meta Krese will be the exceptional visual witnesses of three different and personal incursions on a border territory, developed around the theme of the relationships between the two peoples, their past and present history, collective and individual histories, conflicts, identities, the construction of a future of peace and brotherhood.
Alternatively, you can opt for a relaxing experience at the Vinum Spa for a peaceful retreat at your accommodation.

3rd Day
Eastern Hill of Friuli
Breakfast at the hotel.
In the morning, we recommend a visit to the Colli Orientali del Friuli wine region, a borderland where Italian, Slovenian, and Austrian influences come together. This harmonious landscape features rolling hills covered in vineyards, orderly rows of vines, forests, small villages, castles, and churches.
Visit to a local winery and tasting of fine DOC wines, accompanied by a platter of local specialties.
