Lake Redona is an artificial lake located between the municipalities of Tramonti di Sopra and Tramonti di Sotto, also known as Lake Tramonti. Created in the 1950s to produce electricity, it is surrounded by a fascinating natural setting. In order to create this lake, three small villages had to be abandoned: Movada, Fleur and Redona Vecchia. When the artificial basin is dry, the remains of these villages re-appear as testimony of what once existed and is no longer there. You can walk along scenic paths around the lake, since the territory of the Val Tramontina features unspoilt nature and plenty of wildlife. We can say that Lake Redona is the ideal destination for a holiday based on nature and relaxation. For those who love hiking, part of Tramonti di Sopra is included in the Natural Park of the Friulian Dolomites, a natural context of exceptional beauty. In the municipality, you can also visit the Museo Naturalistico (Nature Museum).
