The island's westernmost beach, known to the locals as the "spiaggia vecja", or old beach.
In this stretch of sand the sea bottom drops away more rapidly than elsewhere, making swimming possible without going too far from the shore.
Access to the beach is free. However, there are areas with deckchairs, sun loungers and beach umbrellas for hire. Ideal for families with children, with play areas not only on the beach but also in the shade of the trees in the areas of greenery, beach volleyball courts and five-a-side football pitches.
The beach is served by various kiosks and, to the rear of the beach, small restaurants which line its fine promenade and are also open in the evening.
The kiosks on the beach organise entertainment programmes for a young clientele.
Pedal boats can also be hired on the beach to take you a little way "out to sea" where you can take a dip in peace.
There are various authorised beach resorts in the area, with entertainment programmes for
young people.
The PIPER bathing establishment offers a wide range of dishes on its menu (salads, sandwiches, cold and hot dishes) to satisfy any need even the youngest and most demanding guests. Among the various activities of the establishment we point out the "AMAMI" evening on Tuesday evening, with DJs and Italian music and on Friday the "Signora delle Fiabe", an interactive theatrical show for children.
