Walking with animals in Tramonti di Sotto

What makes a young woman start-up an agricultural company in the mountains? A great passion for nature and animals, as she explained herself, and the fact that she could not be anywhere else or do anything else than what she does here. With these convincing and bold beliefs, even the children and I, feel in the right place at the right time today, because we are in Tramonti di Sotto (Pn) at the Pradileva Farm in Martina. We are taking part in a family excursion thought up by Martina and organized by the talented Giulia and Alberto of the Ri.Natura Association.
The walk starts from the horse stables at the entrance of the farm, where we meet the first guests: Attila and Over, two magnificent horses who on hearing their names, gallop towards the fence with the mountains as a backdrop. Seeing them running freely we feel like we are catapulted into a scene of the film “Spirit – Stallion of the Cimarron”!
We continue to the meadow where a herd of docile mini cows approaches unexpectedly, they are sociable and immediately make friends with the children.
We reach the sheep pen, they graze following Martina and even imitate her walk! Extraordinary!
The last stop is the deer pen. A while ago some poachers made a gap in the protective fence allowing the herd to escape so they could hunt it. Lampo is the herd leader and is a survivor; he will carry the signs of his struggle on his muzzle for life. A bullet stole his left eye.
This experience filled our hearts and souls. Unforgettable memories, in close contact with nature and animals, some of them mighty and wild. We are really grateful to Martina and her energy. So much determination in such a young girl who takes care of her great passion every day: the animals.

Where to stay

Mina Carfora

Hi everyone! I am Mina and I am passionate about travelling, art and nature!
I deeply love my land and I am constantly looking for wild and appealing places where I can regain a more intimate and contemplative relationship with nature. Often in these adventures, I have the great fortune of having a reckless and fun crew by my side: my family.
We move on foot, by camper, by bicycle... In other words however we feel like.
We enjoy our outings as an opportunity to discover our wonderful region: Friuli Venezia Giulia together, in a carefree and respectful manner!
