Zazen (from Za – “sitting” – and Zen – “meditation”) is a meditative practice, a practical manifestation of the Way that leads to liberation from suffering. It is a cross-legged posture with which, according to Asian traditions, the Buddha achieved his awakening. Outside its religious context, the position is practiced for physical, mental and spiritual benefit. After a theoretical introduction, teacher Anna Maria Iten Shinnyo Marradi will guide the participants as they experiment with this ancient technique.
