The solo recital series reaches one of its highest artistic peaks with the appearance of Polish pianist Rafał Blechacz. His name is forever linked to a legendary achievement: his overwhelming victory at the 2005 Chopin Competition in Warsaw was so decisive that, in an unprecedented decision, the jury declined to award a second prize, while also presenting him with all four special prizes (for Mazurkas, Polonaises, Sonatas and Concertos). In his debut recital at our Theatre, Blechacz presents a programme whose intellectual depth matches his international reputation, moving from the sacred polyphony of Bach to the classical grandeur of Beethoven and culminating in the pure Romanticism of Chopin. An unmissable evening.
