A major artistic residency project enriches our musical seasons this year. The Mozart Orchestra, conducted by Daniele Gatti, will be based at the Giovanni da Udine. The Mozart Orchestra was founded by Claudio Abbado in 2004 and comprises the principal players of the most prestigious international orchestras, alongside young talents from all over Europe. Appointed music director of the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino starting in 2026, Daniele Gatti is now considered one of the most important conductors on the international scene, with regular engagements on the podium of the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Philharmonic, and the Staatskapelle Dresden, of which he is currently Principal Conductor. For this first residency project, Gatti and Mozart will tackle a varied program featuring works by Haydn, Prokofiev, and Stravinsky, in a journey to discover the roots of musical neoclassicism: an extraordinary project and an event not to be missed.
