Open Castles FVG - Muggia Castle

Description

On Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th March 2026, the "Castelli Aperti" (Open Castles) event returns to Friuli Venezia Giulia, an event that makes it possible to visit public and privately owned castles that are not normally open to the public.

Among the many castles that will be open in the region, it will be possible to visit Muggia Castle.
Erected in the year 1374, it towers over the small harbour. Firmly rooted in the history of Muggia, the castle was a military stronghold until the 18th century. It was then left abandoned until 1991 when the sculptor Villi Bossi purchased and restored it.

Opening hours

On Sunday 29th March at 10-11 am and 12-2-3-4-5-6 pm
