More culture with scissors! (Più cultura alle forbici!) Objects and words in the work of Miela Reina

Description

Trieste Contemporanea and the Miela Reina Study Centre present a previously unseen selection of paintings, sculptures, drawings, writings and documents by the Trieste-based artist, taking the title directly from Miela Reina.
It marks the beginning of an exploration of the link between symbolic objects (truly recurring icons such as, for example, scissors) and words (and the many textual inserts) within the artist’s original visual vocabulary. At the heart of the exhibition are key works from the artist’s later output, including three acrylics on panel from 1971 (Quasi solo da leggere, Quasi solo da scrivere, Da gettar via), which can be seen in this context as a true manifesto of Miela Reina’s multimedia and conceptual exploration.
Free admission, Tuesday to Saturday 5pm – 8pm
