Four concerts, from September 21 to December 7, will bring symphonic music and the great orchestral repertoire to Udine’s new Spazio Culturale Creativo. “Lunedì Sinfonica” returns to Cavallerizza and, starting in September, becomes a fully fledged concert series promoted and produced by the Filarmonici Friulani Youth Orchestra. The four-month programme brings together young conductors and soloists who have already established themselves on the national and international scene.

The third concert in the series, on Monday, November 23 at 8:30 pm, brings Silvia Podrecca to Cavallerizza. A Friulian harpist, since 2022 she has held the position of Principal Solo Harp with the Orchestra of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome. Trained at the “J. Tomadini” Conservatory in Udine, Podrecca has collaborated with major Italian and European orchestral institutions, from the Deutsche Oper Berlin to the Staatsoper Hannover, and from the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino to the RAI National Symphony Orchestra.
Leonardo Grimaz will take the podium. A young Friulian conductor and cellist, he already shares an important part of his musical journey with OFF. A frequent member of the Orchestra and part of its cello quartet, Grimaz is studying orchestral conducting and has already led the Filarmonici Friulani in several special projects carried out together with the AMI-Ritmea inclusive orchestra of Udine.
At the heart of the programme will be Nino Rota’s Harp Concerto and Orchestra, with Podrecca as soloist, alongside Deux marches et un intermède by Francis Poulenc and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Symphony No. 29 in A major, K. 201. These three works share a direct and luminous musical language. Rota’s Concerto highlights the harp’s virtuosic and expressive possibilities, while Mozart’s Symphony, composed when he was just eighteen, already reveals the maturity of its composer.
