Description
Legendary voices. An iconic stage. A show like no other. "Gravity" is a must-see, and will be seen for the first time in continental Europe in Trieste after a sold-out performance last August at London's Theatre Royal on Drury Lane. Two major stars of international musical theatre, Kerry Ellis and Rachel Tucker, are coming to the Politeama. Both were highly celebrated for their iconic role as Elpheba, the Green Witch in "Wicked," the musical by Winnie Holzman and Stephen Schwartz, which tells the story of the events surrounding "The Wizard of Oz." Trieste, therefore, has a special connection to the world of "Wicked," just a few days after the Italian release of the film "Wicked - Part 2." Kerry Ellis (in her second appearance at the Rossetti, following the "West End Sessions" concert) and Rachel Tucker have achieved extraordinary heights in the most prestigious theaters in London and Broadway. The first was Nancy in "Oliver!", Eliza in "My Fair Lady," Fantine in "Les Miserables," Svetlana in "Chess," Ellen in "Miss Saigon," and she collaborated with Queen guitarist Brian May. Rachel Tucker shone as Myrtle in "The Great Gatsby," Norma Desmond in "Sunset Boulevard," and Meat in "We Will Rock You." In this exclusive concert, whose title recalls "Defying Gravity," one of the most famous songs from "Wicked," they celebrate—along with a third major actress to be announced by surprise—the roles that defined them, the musical journey that made them stars, with unforgettable performances of the songs that shaped them and that they love most.
