Fukurotoji: Japanese four-hole pouch binding - FEFF 2026

Description

A few steps, small movements, a precise order: this is the magic of fukurotoji, the traditional Japanese four-hole binding technique. Devised in the Edo period, this technique combines extreme linearity with a refined aesthetic. After a historical introduction, we will guide you through the creation of your notebook, covering it with authentic Kyoto chiyogami paper. You will be captivated by the fascinating contrast between the understated elegance of the stitching and the colorful explosion of the silkscreen prints. A perfect workshop, even for beginners, to learn a timeless art and take home a unique creation.
