On the occasion of Go2025!, the project aims to commemorate Franco Basaglia and his relationship with the city of Gorizia—then the epicentre of a cultural revolution of international significance—through the work of three extraordinary photographers who documented that historic moment.
For the first time, Gianni Berengo Gardin (1930–2025), Raymond Depardon (1942) and Ferdinando Scianna (1943) are brought together in a project that, through their photographs and personal accounts, seeks to give full meaning to Basaglia’s extraordinary vision and to the transformation he initiated—one that culminated in the 1978 law abolishing mental asylums.
