Flying Racquets – A Photography Exhibition by Ray Giubilo

Description

The exhibition presents a selection of over 60 large-format images, taken over the course of almost forty years of photographic work at the most important international tennis events. The photographs feature great champions such as Federer, Nadal, Williams, Sampras, Djokovic, Alcaraz, Paolini and Sinner, as well as the atmosphere of the tournaments, the tension of decisive moments and details often invisible to the naked eye.
The exhibition’s title is inspired by a symbolic image: the rackets which, in moments of anger, joy or frustration, fly through the air on courts around the world, capturing the nature of a sport constantly poised between triumph and defeat.
Giubilo’s photograph ‘It’s not Halloween’ won the 2025 ITF Tennis Photo Award for best tennis photograph of the year and the prestigious AIPS Award for best sports photograph of 2025.

Free admission. Opening hours: Thursday 16:00–20:00; Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 11:00–20:00.
