Description
AMI Vivaldi? This question shapes the Orchestra’s journey—a path winding through great classics, unexpected detours, and surprises. The music of the “Red Priest” emerges, transforms, and shifts in tone; the 18th century becomes a threshold to cross into unexpected territories—spanning the 20th century and the contemporary era—revealing how worlds that seem worlds apart can speak to one another.
Vivaldi is the starting point. The rest, perhaps, is yet to be discovered.
More than a traditional sequence of pieces, the concert is an invitation to be guided by sonic associations and unexpected connections, where the past and the present engage in a dialogue. “AMI Vivaldi?” thus becomes an invitation to rediscover the joy of listening: recognizing the familiar, finding surprise in the unexpected, and discovering that, in music, centuries of separation can suddenly feel very close.
AMI was founded in 2017 at the Ritmea Music School in Udine, with the goal of opening the doors of music to children, young people, and adults with disabilities, neurodivergence, or other forms of vulnerability. The project originated from an idea by Antonella Rigo and is rooted in a strong conviction: that music should truly be a language accessible to everyone.
AMI serves those facing situations of vulnerability, offering an educational environment where everyone can feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to play a leading role.
Over the years, AMI has grown into a well-established point of reference, supporting over a hundred students under the guidance of specialized teachers. The project’s high artistic merit is further confirmed by prestigious collaborations established with leading local orchestras, including the Orchestra Giovanile Filarmonici Friulani, Accademia Naonis (conducted by Maestro Valter Sivilotti), UdineClassica, and the FVG Chamber Orchestra.
