Description
Red Shoes is an all-female musical trio that takes listeners on a musical journey to the corners of the world, presenting rhythms and harmonies in a new and unusual way. The trio was founded in 2020 in Trieste by three musicians with many years of concert experience, who wanted to bring the voices of female singer-songwriters from around the world to the forefront, also raising awareness of gender issues. They created the musical project "Scusi tanto, sono una donna," which saw them perform at the Mascheratenonbasta Festival in the Municipality of Staranzano in 2021. The trio arranges, revisits, and makes their own popular songs, alternating them with their own compositions. They describe themselves as "singer-songwriters in broken red heels," and on stage they sound like an orchestra, even if they're just three.
Irena Marčeta (Serbia) - double bass, guitar. She studied double bass at the G. Tartini Conservatory in Trieste with Maestro Stefano Sciascia.
Elisabeth Antonaglia (Italy) - vocals, violin, and guitar. She studied violin at the G. Tartini Conservatory in Trieste with Maestro Fernanda Selvaggio and furthered her studies with Maestros Črtomir Šiškovič and Barbara Cavo.
Serena Cermelj (Italy) - vocals. She is a member of the Gruppo Incontro Choir with Maestro Rita Susovsky.
