Beethoven Transcription or original?

Description

An entire concert dedicated to Ludwig van Beethoven, featuring three works that reveal as many facets of his genius: the dramatic tension of the theater, the intense dialogue between soloist and orchestra, and the radiant freedom of symphonic writing.
The *Leonore* Overture No. 3, Op. 72b—born from the complex genesis of the opera *Fidelio*—distills the work’s core essence into just a few minutes: a journey from darkness to liberation, built with extraordinary narrative power. The Piano Concerto No. 3, Op. 37, marks a pivotal moment in the evolution of Beethoven’s musical language; here, the Mozart-inspired Classicism transforms into an intense, theatrical interplay that already points toward a new conception of the concerto form. The program concludes with Symphony No. 4, Op. 60—a masterpiece of balance and invention—where lightness, rhythmic energy, and refined timbres coexist with a surprising modernity.
Filippo Faes takes the stage in the dual role of pianist and conductor of the FVG Orchestra. Winner of the 1989 Schubert Competition in Dortmund, he has performed in some of Europe’s most prestigious venues, including the Berlin Philharmonie, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, the Cologne Philharmonie, and the Gasteig in Munich. A highly experienced musician, he has collaborated with conductors such as Peter Maag, Piero Bellugi, and José Serebrier, balancing his solo and conducting careers with ongoing research into the relationship between music, culture, and thought.
