Descrizione
This event is dedicated to the pianist and composer Eugenio Visnoviz (1906–1931), a native of Trieste who was a prominent figure in the Central European music scene during the interwar period. He collaborated with artists such as Augusto Jancovich, Cesare Barison, and Ettore Sigon, and his concert career even took him to Egypt and the United States. The programme features works by Visnoviz, performed by two young pianists from the “Giuseppe Tartini” Conservatory in Trieste: Denis Valentini and Fabrizio Balestrini. The concert is part of the service initiatives of the Lions Club Trieste Europa, which supports both the global causes of Lions Club International and local projects—including “School in the Hospital” (Scuola in Ospedale), collaborations with DonatoriNati, the OASI project for the Pediatric Hospice of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, and partnerships with the organization Glioblastoma.IT ODV.
Proceeds from the evening will go toward the “Hope and Courage” (Speranza e Coraggio) project by Glioblastoma.IT ODV—an association founded in 2019 in memory of Emanuele Pugliese, with the goal of providing free psychological support to patients and their families affected by glioblastoma. The service, which operates online throughout Italy, is managed by psychologists trained through a program recognized by the Italian Society of Psycho-Oncology. The initiative aims to provide a listening ear, guidance, and support during the most challenging stages of the illness, underscoring the belief that healing also involves human connection and the compassionate embrace of one’s vulnerabilities.
