Il quintetto psichedelico Altın Gün ritorna con Garip, il suo quinto album: il lavoro più maturo e variegato della band fino a oggi, oltre che un omaggio sentito al leggendario cantautore del folk turco Neşet Ertaş.
Dall’esordio esplosivo nel 2018 con On, gli Altın Gün – con base ad Amsterdam – si sono affermati come protagonisti della rinascita contemporanea delle sonorità psichedeliche ispirate alla musica turca del XXI secolo.
Fin dagli inizi, il gruppo ha saputo catturare con naturalezza lo spirito dei pionieri dell’Anatolian psych-funk degli anni ’70, come Barış Manço ed Erkin Koray. Con Yol (2021) ha poi ampliato ulteriormente il proprio universo sonoro, introducendo synth e drum machine che hanno donato alle loro composizioni un’atmosfera più onirica, dal sapore anni ’80.
