Arcano Superiore Castle is one of the
oldest and best-preserved castles in Friuli, and is perched on top of a hill
between San Daniele del Friuli and Fagagna.
Within the castle walls, there is a
consecrated church and plenty of
green space for civil ceremonies.
Opposite the church, you ascend towards a spectacular staircase ornamented with little obelisks that leads to an inner courtyard; the bright inner courtyard overlooks a parlour decorated in stucco and a room containing precious eighteenth century frescos by Andrea Urbani.
The upper floor boasts a panoramic view over the San Daniele hills and some other rooms including a parlour and the great state hall containing two monumental marble fireplaces flanked by a further smaller hall.
There are ample green areas between the inner and outer castle walls, ideal for banquets of starters, buffets, or the cutting of the cake, just how you imagined it. All this in guaranteed prestigious surroundings.
