Passing over the dam, follow the Pura Pass road to the first hairpin bend. Here, by the Rio Storto, a dirt road starts that runs along the south side of the lake. The cartroad, overlooked by the very green Flobia, Stua and Bernone Woods, leads up to the westernmost bay of the lake, where the artif icial tunnel that brings part of the water of the Tagliamento to the lake flows out. Continuing and always keeping to the right, one crosses the Rio Tavanelli to reach the wide bed of the Lumiei, just upstream of which is the canyon of the same name. Despite the mysterious beauty of the canyon, access is dangerous even when the stream's flow is minimal. Beyond the gorge you climb toward Pamelouche (meaning in the gorge from Louch = hole or cavity) and then across a forest road, you reach the fork in the road at Mulini. You now climb sharply to the left to the locality of Preitschpoudn, an area characterized by meadows and stavoli near the village of Sauris di Sopra, which you will soon reach.
