Leaving the car in Illegio, from the church square we head in the direction of the cemetery and, a few meters after the square, where the asphalt road to the cemetery descends towards the
Trambe brook, we leave it to turn right uphill (Via Macilles).
A few hundred meters more and the asphalt gives way to gravel to arrive, after a descent, to cross the Frondizzon brook with a concrete bridge (Puint di Clevòns) in front of the locality Roncs-Plan da Resie basso.
Immediately after the small bridge, turn left to cross the ford over the rio Custolade and proceed slightly uphill along an obvious trail/muletrack that climbs steadily under the western slopes of Mt. Gjaideit.
At the only obvious fork at the foot of the Plan da Resie stavolo pasture, keep left.
After crossing, with the help of a small wooden bridge, a small stream that flows just above the trail, continue until the forest gives way to the meadows of the Damièile stavoli, where you reach from their upper edge.
Here a short descent leads to a fountain and crosses the path up to San Floriano.
Continuing to the right it is possible to reach the Pieve in about 15 to 20 minutes, while to the left one continues downhill to cross the Frondizzon stream again, over the bridge of San Floriano, and ascend from the opposite side the steep path that leads to the cemetery of Illegio; from here by asphalt road one closes the loop by returning to the village.
The path presents no difficulty and makes for a pleasant walk in any season, even with children; the gentleness of the path also makes it an excellent loop for a run off the usual routes. It can, of course, be walked in both directions without losing its charm.
