Between the houses, in the upper part of the village of Illegio, begins a small road heading southwest (CAI table 443), which you leave after 100 meters to the left (CAI table 443) heading uphill toward the south-east. After a clearing you enter the forest, which you quickly ascend in a serpentine fashion. The large rock called Clap da Farinarie stuck in a gully roughly indicates the halfway point of the ascent. The path now becomes gentler; with a long traverse, the
Traviers di Vitôr, southward you drop down to reach the fir forestation of the old meadow shelf of the former Damarie cheese factory. A very short detour to the right along the forest track allows you to still see its ruins. Cross a forest track to reach the junction with the descent path (CAI 461) near a spring.
From this point, continuing along CAI path 443, it is possible to reach in three minutes the Cimenti - Floreanini shelter, a convenient and well-equipped resting place.
From the spring along CAI path 461 you descend, first crossing a beech forest and then a sparse mixed forest. After the descent, the trail takes a northwesterly direction, becomes flatter, passes an exposed passage and a rock step in the Malpas locality, both well equipped with handrails and metal ladder.
At an altitude of about 580 meters, almost in view of the Illegio plain, you leave the CAI trail and continue straight toward the village along a comfortable path, which near some stavoli becomes a mule track and leads exactly back to the starting point.
Apart from the equipped passages of the Malpas, which are in any case not challenging, the trail is a pleasant autumn or even winter hike of medium development.
