From Tolmezzo to Illegio

Starting on foot from the center of Tolmezzo, follow the old railroad trackbed southeast until you reach the base of the Rivoli Bianchi conoid. At the first bridge of the bicycle path you leave this to turn left between two sheds, cross the provincial road and climb a small asphalt road. As soon as possible go up the embankment to follow the convenient path above it. When you reach the road that leads from Tolmezzo to Illegio, cross it and a few meters further downstream take a small path that climbs the slopes of Mount Strabut and then crosses under the walls of the Rock Gym. At the end of this, keeping to the left edge of the road to Illegio, leave the asphalt and turn left onto a dirt road. Passing by a votive chapel, you cross again the road to Illegio, which you cross; having reached the opposite side, take the path with CAI table 461, which starts with a small concrete bridge. Follow it briefly and leave it on the right to continue left with a few ups and downs to reach a small dirt road that takes us to the upper part of the village of Illegio.
