A delightful loop trail through the woods, featuring educational signs, that lets you explore the natural beauty of the Flobia Forest
easy
Distance 4 km
Duration1:20 h
Ascent132 m
Descent135 m
Highest point1,432 m
Lowest point1,302 m
The loop trail starts at the Tita Piaz Mountain Hut. The Bosco Flobia nature trail begins behind the hut and initially follows the forest road leading to Calcinaia. Shortly afterward, take a trail on the left that branches off from the forest road and descends into the woods; in some sections, the slope is quite steep. Once you reach a second forest road, turn right and follow it for a few hundred meters, paying attention to a new turnoff on the left—which isn’t always obvious—that allows you to continue correctly along the loop. The lowest point of the route is a hairpin bend on the road leading up to Sauris. From here, the trail begins to climb again through the woods until it rejoins the starting point. Along the route, there are numerous educational panels dedicated to the flora, fauna, and natural features of the Flobia Forest, making the walk interesting from an educational standpoint as well.
