Not the most aesthetically valuable route to Mount Holy Lussari and Cima del Cacciatore, but certainly the most direct (plant excluded!) and the one with the greatest training factor. To be done once at least, as an intense form of pilgrimage (or penance).
From Valbruna (810 m), we forge trail 612 and follow it slavishly up to Monte Santo di Lussari. The ascent gives no respite, developing with considerable gradient - and no relieving sections - in a uniform forest. Having passed Alpe Limerza locality (about 1390 m) there is a brief passage at altitude, which immediately, however, becomes steep and intense again. Trail 612 deposits us on the less charming side of Monte Santo, but in a moment we are within sight of the wonderful village of Lussari (1780 m), on the "heart" side to be used as a photogenic frame. We pass through the hamlet, possibly take a break, and continue further; we thus reach a crossroads (1715 m) at which we continue straight ahead, forking trail 613, which uphill enters the woods. Some sections sloping, others at altitude-the trail is pleasant to follow. When we come out of the woods, the view changes: we are facing a beautiful rocky basin. We follow the path without deviating, and reach a second basin, almost suspended, dominated by scree. We keep to the right following the slope and reach the attack of the equipped section (2018 m): about fifty meters of difference in height to be done with the help of a cable, nothing difficult but some attention is needed at the beginning. In a moment we are on the summit of Cima del Cacciatore (2071 m, cross and summit book). We return by the same route.
