From the Cason di Lanza Pass, one travels through the gentle plateaus of the Val Dolce valley, reaching the Sella di Val Dolce saddle at the state border (just before the saddle is Attila's Cave).

From the saddle, the route straddles the wide border displuvial, then reassembles the southern basal slopes of the Crete of Aip in scenic mountainous terrain. The long traverse reaches the Sella di Aip sad dle a short distance from the E. Lomasti bivouac, which remains a few hundred meters below in Italian territory.

From the saddle you descend toward the Pramollo ski area, arriving at an artificial lake after a short section where the trail crosses an area of large boulders (pay attention to the trail markers).

From the shores of the lake, climb back up to the summit of M. Madrizze to descend shortly before in the direction of the Winkel valley. Reaching the Winkel hut, you skim the provincial road, remounting at the pass equipped through a forest path that reaches the peat bog near the pass.

    Safety information

The Winkel hut offers agritourism service.

    Roadbook

From Cason di Lanza Pass, behind the main farm building, a trail climbs up through meadows and sparse brush gaining elevation until finally coming out onto open ground near a lookout. The CAI 458 trail continues clearly to the Val Dolce saddle (just before the saddle, on the left, is Attila's Cave - signs torn to the ground).

From the saddle, the route winds to the right straddling the wide border dyspluvial, then reassembling the southern basal slopes of the Crete of Aip in scenic mountainous terrain. The long traverse reaches the Sella di Aip saddle a short distance from the E. Lomasti bivouac, which remains a few hundred meters further down in Italian territory (it can be reached by the path descending to the right).

From the saddle follow trail 403 to the left that descends toward the Pramollo ski area and at the next fork take the right descending a recessed area. Coming out of the thickets you climb back up to an artificial lake after a short section where the trail crosses an area of large boulders (pay attention to the markers).

From the shores of the lake climb (at the bell tower of S. Marco) toward the summit of M. Madrizze to descend shortly before in the direction of the Winkel valley (the sentieor breaks off at an area equipped with children's games-take a left to the east).

After a short stretch on a false plain the path descends to the right (Winkel signs) reaching the Winkel hut. At the end of the meadow, follow the service road of the hut for a few hundred meters, and just before reaching the ordinary road, take a comfortable forest path to the left that reaches the Pramollo peat bog near the pass.
