The route, quiet and away from traditional tourist circuits, winds through the mountains surrounding Upper Val Resia, leading the hiker on a journey back in time, among ancient alpine pastures and a mosaic of natural environments with remarkable variety and purity.
This route is dedicated to music, a fundamental element of Resian culture; from the earliest times it has accompanied the life of the entire community, celebrating both the most important private moments (such as weddings or baptisms) and public ones (such as Carnival - Püst or the Coscritti festival). This is also true in the most isolated and distant villages such as Coritis, the natural gateway to the Julian Prealps Natural Park.

The Gate that symbolically marks the beginning of the Music Route is located in Stolvizza. From the center of the village, we set off along the paved road that crosses the characteristic settlement located in the upper part of Val Resia. Following the signs, we reach the locality of Ladina, situated on a beautiful sunny terrace beside a lush pine forest. At the entrance to the village, we follow the CAI 634 trail marker (the famous Resiana path to Canin), which will soon lead us to the entrance of the thermophilous forest (see details), and from there, along a narrow path, we will arrive at the bank of the Resia stream, splendid in its emerald green color, accentuated by the white limestones over which it flows and the willows that accompany it. In some sections, it is necessary to cross the watercourse, aided by simple wooden bridges, then proceed into a forest where specimens of Norway spruce stand out.
Having reached a short flat area, we pass by an old kiln, once used by the locals to produce lime and still very well preserved today. Shortly after, the path will start to climb, increasingly steep, among Scots pines and Norway spruces, encountering along the way the remains of old shepherd huts, now worn by time but evocative in the memories they evoke. We continue to ascend the slope with a succession of forest views, alternating pine forest sections with beech forest until reaching the panoramic location ta-na Rawni, on the southern slopes of Monte Sart.
The route then begins to descend in altitude toward the right, alternating woods and clearings with wide views over Val Resia, until once again reaching near the stream where it crosses the municipal road. After another short climb, we arrive at the village of Coritis, the last settlement in the valley, inhabited during the summer months, where it is possible to admire the typical Resian houses, among the few examples still visible after the earthquake that shook Friuli in 1976. Here we will find the Music Square, one of the most significant symbols of the Resian community. The long return will be on paved road, following the road that from Coritis leads back to Stolvizza.
