The area of
Piancavallo is a mountain balcony overlooking the entire Friuli plain. The Cavallo group stands out with its slender slopes above dense woods and pastures, where hiking finds ideal terrain thanks to the dense network of paths. Thanks to the Tremol chairlift in summer, you can easily reach the 1630 metres of the Baita Arneri for a panoramic lunch on the Friuli plain, tasting typical succulent dishes. You can enjoy a more or less demanding trek or launch into a fast descent with your MTB thanks to the chairlift transportation. Families and children will find guaranteed fun at the bottom of the valley in the specially set up area where the adrenaline-pumping bobsleigh on rails awaits young and old alike.

To enjoy an alternative outdoor experience to the usual overnight stay in a refuge during the weekends of July and August, you can camp at high altitude in the tents that the Arneri shelter makes available in the area surrounding the structure.

Easy excursion to the nearby summit of Col Cornier at 1767 metres through clearings and sparse woods.

Belvedere di Palantina
Forcella Palantina bassa at 1778 metres, with its viewpoint, is a balcony lying between the Karst slopes of the western slopes of the mountain range. It is easily accessible. It offers a unique view that ranges from lake S. Croce to Cansiglio to the nearby Dolomite peaks.

Mount Tremol
A panoramic route that reaches the nearby green pyramid of Mount Tremol at 2007 metres along an easy path without any vegetation.

Duration one-way: 1.30 hours from the chairlift
Elevation gain: about 400 metres

Alta Via dei Rondoi
A route with extensive views that connects the main peaks of the Cavallo group at high altitude along an itinerary of great technical and physical commitment. Given the numerous exposed stretches with mountaineering difficulties, it is reserved for trained people with adequate technical skills. The average travel time is around 8 hours, and it follows the CAI 918 trail.
