The spectacular
Vinadia's forra is the result of three great chasms where run as many rivers: rio Chiantone, rio Pichions and rio Vinadia.
The forra has the same name of the old queen of the Carni, Vinadia, who died in a chasm with its army to avoid to be captured by the Romans that run after her.

For those who love the wild nature and for the experts there is an exciting
itinerary that wind along the gorge, in a fair of waterfalls, lakes and stretch with 200 meters high stone walls, so close one to another that from the bottom you couldn't see the sky.
To reach the gorge's inland it is advisable the accompaniment of a guide, because it is necessary to have proper alpine equipment. The more external part, instead, can be cover without difficulties when there isn't river flood.
The itinerary stars in the village of Vinaio, located 807 meters high in the municipality of Lauco. To visit the forra you have to leave your car in the stone quarry close to the river's bridge, located in the ss 52 street between Tolmezzo and Villa Santina.
